GE Electric Vehicle Controls - Authorzied Service

     Flight Systems Industrial Products has been Remanufacturing GE Electric Vehicle Controls since the early 1970’s. In 1998 General Electric, the leader in innovative electronic controls for the electric vehicle industry formed the “GE Electric Vehicle Control Service,” an alliance with FSIP. This alliance formed the largest and most diverse Remanufacturer of electronic controls for the material handling industry in the United States, bringing together over 70 years of combined experience and technology under one roof.

REMANUFACTURING

     FSIP Remanufactures General Electric controls that are used in electric lift trucks, mining locomotives, electric automobiles, electric golf carts, personnel carriers, aerial lifts and similar vehicles. These include SCR and transistorized traction and pump controls, separately excited controls, power steering controls, battery discharge indicators, and other electronic accessories. All products remanufactured by FSIP are upgraded to the latest revisions and specifications as well as load tested to maximum voltage and current ratings to ensure safe and efficient operation.

MANUFACTURING

     FSIP manufacturing known as “GE Legacy” manufactures short run, new parts for the GE service replacement industry. Our assembly and testing capabilities coupled with the Servicenter’s years of experience allow for low cost, quick turnaround and high quality service replacement parts to be built for “Just in Time” delivery. Some of the products FSIP manufactures include SCR panels, accelerators, contactors, diode blocks, replacement harnesses, and complete contactor assemblies.

CONTROL ENGINEERING

     FSIP develops electric drives and controls in conjunction with GE Engineering. Products like the STAR (Series Transistorized Aftermarket Replacement) Control used in the Upgrade Golf Cart market and the EVT1000 and 1000 amp 28 to 144 volt traction drive controls are available thru the GE Electric Vehicle Control Servicenter. WARRANTY ADMINISTRATION

     FSIP Servicenter conducts warranty evaluation for new in-warranty GE Industrial controls and components. If a customer is claiming warranty on a unit still within the GE warranty period, the unit is shipped to the Servicenter for credit evaluation.

Process Example:
  1. Verify Unit Part number, warranty tag info and date code.
  2. Collect stored register data from unit.
  3. Visually inspect unit for excessive customer caused damage.
  4. Functionally test unit.
  5. If unit is a TEST OK, return unit to customer - reject credit claim.
  6. If unit FAILS, troubleshoot unit to root cause and supply GE with failure information and credit customer for the unit as an in warranty failure.
  7. Repair unit and stock for potential re-sell.
