FSIP New Line of Speed Controllers

"FSIP has been very busy over the winter months," states Steve Lloyd, Flight Systems Industrial Products Vice-President of Sales and Marketing. FSIP has supplied a line of Series Motor Controllers to the golf car aftermarket industry for several years. However, there was something missing from the shelf in FSIP's line of New Replacement Speed Controllers so they spent the past six months developing a complete line of Seperately Excited (SX) Controllers.

To accomplish this task, FSIP engineers went to one of the original sources for speed control design... General Electric. By utilizing an existing GE speed controller design (already tried, true and tested in the field), FSIP engineers worked on developing software sepcific to the industry that allows one control to fit most golf cart applications. With a simple harness change, and settin the software for the correct cart and moto combination, the FSIP "FX" series of controllers is a simple "bolt on" and "plug in" replacement. The secret of the software, as Jon Davis (FSIP Engineer) states, is "We've matched motor and control parameters for both stock and upgraded motors to get the maximum speed, power and efficiency without causing motor reliability problems".

FSIP worked directly with leading motor manufactures to accomplish this ‘matched’ design, exchanging spec sheets and parameters to ensure the best product available. Golf carts went flying around FSIP’s parking lot on a daily basis as Engineers tested and evaluated the controllers.

There are 300 and 500 amp FX controllers available to fit the need of most golf cart enthusiasts. The FX302 controller matched with the stock motor will allow most carts 18-20 mph. When matching the FX503 with an upgraded motor, the cart designer’s imagination is the only limit. FSIP’s complete line of Series and Shunt speed controllers for E-Z-GO, Club Car and Yamaha carts are available direct to the dealer or through most of the industry’s leading distributors.

For more information on controllers and applications, see FSIP’s website at www.fsip.biz or call their Customer Service department at 800-333-1194.
