FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS |
- Topic: EV-1 PANEL
- Question: I recently had an EV-1 Panel repaired by Flight Systems. When I installed it back in the vehicle the directional contactors close but I get no traction speed.
- Answer: The control card may have been upgraded to the latest revision. If the control card part number ends with the digit "9" you will need to run an 18 AWG wire from R4, on the control card, to the battery negative panel terminal. This completes an internal path which was removed from the newest control card versions.

- Topic: EV100LX FT and FX cards.
- Question: I purchased an IC3645LXCD1FT EV100LX control card from Flight Systems but now I can't get power steering to function.
- Answer: The EV100 FT and FX control cards are micro-processor based and can be programmed for either Power Steering or Field Weakening but not both. Flight Systems programs all control cards back to factory settings. This programs the FT and FX card to have Field Weakening but not Power Steering. In order to program for you particular application you will need to set Function 17 by using the LX Handset. Setting Function 17 to a value from 0-4 will give you Power Steering. Setting Function 17 to a value of 20-24 will program the control for Field Weakening.

- Topic: Curtis 1214's, 1215's, 1244's, 1207's:
- Question: Why am I getting a throttle fault or high pedal disable fault, I checked my accelelator and it seems to be fine?
- Answer: The programming is probably incorrect for your vehicle. These controls can be programmed for 3 different throttle types. Using the Curtis Handset version 1307-2101, under the Programming Menu, go to "Throttle Type". Setting this value to "1" is for a 5K ohm - 0K ohm accelerator, high to low value. Setting this value to "2" is for a 0VDC - 5VDC or 0VDC - 10VDC accelerator, low to high value. Setting this value to "3" is for a 0K ohm - 5K ohm accelerator, low to high value.

- Topic: Curtis 1244's
- Question: I installed a Curtis 1244 control in my truck and it's giving me a low battery voltage fault (or an overvoltage fault)? The label on the control says 24-36VDC operation?
- Answer: The 1244's must be set via the Curtis Handset to either 24 or 36 volts. You need a version 1307-2101 Handset and under the Program Menu there is a setting for "Voltage". Setting this value to "2" programs the control for 24VDC, or setting this value to "3" programs it for 36VDC.

- Topic: EV100LX/ZX Cards
- Question: I just purchased an EV100LX/ZX control card from Flight Systems but it does not function, the vehicle appears to be dead.
- Answer: The EV100LX/ZX control cards are micro-processsor based and can be programmed in many different ways. You may need to program the control to fit your particular vehicle, using the General Electric LX Handset. This will correct 99% of all problems. There are two Functions, or adjustments, that will completely shut the vehicle down or make it operate abnormally. These two Functions will need to be checked, Function 15 "Battery Voltage Setting" and Function 17 "Card Selection Type".

- Topic: EV100LX/ZX Cards
- Question: I purchased, or had repaired, an EV100 control card from Flight Systems. There is a "Certificate of Test" sticker on the back of the control card, which says it is for 48 volt operation and my vehicle is 36 volts.
- Answer: The EV100LX/ZX control cards are multivoltage and will operate on any vehicle voltage from 24 to 84 volt. Flight Systems will program the controls to factory default settings, which may not match your particular vehicle. You will need to set Function 15, "Battery Voltage Setting", to match your vehicle voltage.
